The Best Theme Bars in Maine!

Looking to escape to a bar with a Frank Sinatra-era vibe? How does taking a trip to Ireland sound? If either of these scenarios—or countless others—intrigue you, you might enjoy visiting a themed bar. There are several in the state of Maine, and these are some of our favorites!

The Black Horse Tavern, Bridgton, ME

Featuring equestrian décor and drinks, the Black Horse Tavern is known for its drinks and delicious pub fare. They also serve up some delicious steaks. Try the Black Angus steak tips which are bourbon marinated and served over smashed red potatoes with peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Delicious!

Surf 6 Oceanfront Grille & Bar, Old Orchard Beach, ME

Packed in the summertime, Surf 6 is open year-round, reminding patrons of the beautiful ocean and beach that graces the town. A distinct nautical theme is made authentic as the bar was once an actual lobster boat.

Timber Kitchen & Bar, Bangor, ME

Boasting a Maine lumberjack theme, Timber Kitchen & Bar serves up food and drinks reminiscent of the camps the lumbermen once stayed in during their foray into the woods. The fireplace will keep you toasty on a cold day or night, and the food and drinks will both fill and warm you up.

Nocturnem Draft Haus, Bangor, ME

You needn’t wear lederhosen when you visit Nocturnem Draft Haus, but if you decided to anyway, you wouldn’t feel out of place. The German theme is prevalent throughout, with an impressive assortment of German beers and dishes on the menu.
