Very interesting to actually see a desert. Smaller than I imagined but the surrounding forest is moving slowly back in! To see an example of poor land management now loosing to nature is quite a sight to behold. It rained while I was there but I still enjoyed the visit.

Really interesting place to visit. The tour stalls out by the spring shed but the history is really interesting. Definitely worth the money to take a look around, there is a path to go out and explore along with other trails in the park as well.

Remember when you were a kid and you went over to a friends house to play that brand new fight video game he got. Then he hands you the controller and you look down to realize he's given you a cheap knock off brand mad catz. The disappointment you felt when you realize you'd been cheated and were about to be readily crushed. Your hopes of all fun and excitement, drowned out like a kid who just got sugar free cake. Well that is the feeling when you pull up to the desert of Maine and see a $12.50 per person charge just to see it.

Very nice people and our woodsy tent site was so peaceful! We only stopped for the night on our way to somewhere else but there was enough there that we were tempted to stay and explore the area. The place feels nice and isolated but is very close to the highway and easy to find. Would stay again. =)

It's okay. Young kids will love it. It is a cool place to go once.
