Woodman’s Bar & Grill, Orono, ME

Woodman’s Bar & Grill was opened in 2005 by former UMaine students. With delicious pub fare like chicken strips and fries, burgers, and Buffalo chicken sandwich, there’s no question why students love Woodman’s. Since the food prices are affordable, students can also afford the in-house brewed craft beer by Orono Brewing Company.

Pat’s Pizza, Orono, ME

Pat’s Pizza is a Maine legend. Opened in Orono in July 1931, the pizzeria has since spread across the state with locations as far south as Sanford. Pat’s Pizza is one of the best places near the UMO campus to grab a fresh dough pizza. Check out the specials for great deals that even the poorest students can afford.

Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, Orono, ME

Open late every day of the week, Margaritas Mexican Restaurant is a local favorite of university students. With a menu full of budget-friendly, flavorful Mexican foods, you’ll see plenty of student here, especially on the weekend. Margaritas are just $5 after 9 p.m. and many of the beers are discounted as well. Perfect for any university student on a budget!

Orono House of Pizza, Orono, ME

Open until 2:00 am Thursday through Saturday, Orono House of Pizza just across Route 2 from the University of Maine campus is the perfect destination for some greasy pizza after a night of drinking. The pizza’s cheap and they have all your favorites.

Geaghan’s Pub, Bangor, ME

For students who are looking to head to the “big city” for a night of fun, Geaghan’s Pub is a Bangor favorite. Open late, the pub serves delicious pub fare like wings, burgers, and pizza. Geaghan’s brews its own craft beer in-house and a great destination for students over the age of 21 who are looking for a tasty beer to enjoy. 

Kobe Ninja House, Bangor, ME

Known for their generous “Happy Hour” from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays where everything on the menu, including drinks, is half off, Kobe Ninja House is also a great restaurant to enjoy late night after a football game.
