Last Blast New Year's Eve Beach Party at Downtown Old Orchard Beach, Old Orchard Beach, ME

Perfect for the entire family, New Year’s Eve Last Blast is set to begin at 5 p.m. the night before New Year’s Eve at Palace Playland on the beach. Hosted by OOB365, a nonprofit Old Orchard Beach group of businesses, guests can enjoy a bonfire, hot chocolate, cotton candy, kettle corn and more. Fireworks begin at 7:30. The entire event is over by 9, so parents can tuck the kids into bed and prepare for even more fun the next evening. Tickets are $5 per person, or $20 for a family.

Last Dance, Bangor, ME

Ring in the New Year at Penobscot Theatre as Jeremy Sevelovitz of “Ring of Fire” fame takes to the stage with others to tell the story of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. You’ll love classics including Refugee, Breakdown, Stop Dragging My Heart Around and more. Plus, with shows at both 6 and 9 p.m., you’ll be home in time to uncork a bottle of champagne and watch the ball drop in Times Square—on TV, of course. Tickets are available online.

New Year’s Planetarium, Portland, ME

Ring in the New Year at the Southworth Planetarium at the University of Southern Maine. Starting at 6 p.m., and ending at midnight, take in all the new shows hosted by the planetarium during 2018—for the cost of just one show. This means that for no more than $10 per person, you can enjoy an exciting and educational New Year’s Eve. You’ll even get to watch the ball drop in Times Square on the planetarium’s full dome projector.

New Year's Eve at The Boathouse, Kennebunkport, ME
