Sewing Stone

Saturday, Feb 12, 2022 from 9:30am to 12:00pm
Waterfall Arts
256 High Street

In this sewing workshop offered in conjunction with our current exhibit Uplift, our guide artist Lesia Sochor will help participants explore the concept of sewing stone. We will pull and stretch and fit cloth over a stone of our choosing, making it secure, and then use the stone’s symbolic meanings to ground and protect and comfort us. While we sew we can think about overcoming the obstacles or burdens dragging us down and how we might lift the weight, either on our own or with the help of others.

Stones and fabric will be supplied, however, if you have favorites please bring them along. Participants should have basic knowledge of hand sewing skills, but all levels are welcome. Ages 12+ (adult supervision required for younger participants.)

All participants must provide proof of vaccination and wear a mask.
