John Fromer will lead an outdoor presentation on Opening the Perennial Garden at Merryspring Nature Center.
A lot of exciting things happen in your perennial gardens in spring. The growth regulators are at their peak and your plants are growing quickly. What kind of care does your garden need in spring? How do you identify plants when they emerge in spring? When is a good time to divide perennials? Are there special needs such as feeding or watering in spring that is different from summer and fall? We will start with a talk and then move out to the gardens for a closer look at perennials. These topics and more will be explored in person at Merryspring Nature Center in Camden by Maine Master Gardener Volunteer and Merryspring Program Director John Fromer.
This program is first in the Summer Talk series at Merryspring, sponsored by Renys – A Maine Adventure, and co-sponsored by Camden Riverhouse Hotel.
